Random Black History Moment
This clip from a 1969 episode of the ABC variety show The Hollywood Palace featuring Diahann Carroll and Stevie Wonder chased my blues right away this morning! The song is “Pretty World,” and was originally recorded in 1966 by bossa nova master Sergio Mendes. Enjoy!

OMG that was pure delight! They were having so much fun.
Is it totally declassée to say I like to think they got it on after the show LOL?
This was an excellent way to start the day! I had never seen this clip nor had I heard the Sergio Mendes original. I’m now in the mood to listen to something from the sixties on the way to work.
@jazzfan360
That IS totally declassee…but since you used the word ‘declassee’ I’ll allow it!
So what do you think? Please be respectful to other readers!

Malt Liquor: A Historical Examination
By Thembi Ford on May 18, 2008
The other day I made a joke to one of my coworkers about 40’s and she had no idea what I was talking about. I always think really hard when someone doesn’t get my jokes, and it made me realize that the 40-ounce beverage, and malt liquor in general, has somehow become a distinctly black phenomenon that is difficult for foreigners to fully grasp. But how did American black folks become the key market for consumption of this drink?
