“What The Eff?” Wednesday: 80s Dating Reel

I’ve been super busy this week with big things happening, but it’s Wednesday so I have to at least give you something to make you go “what the eff?” real quick. It’s times like these that I wish I could talk more about dating and relationships on this blog. The kaleidoscope of young urban professionals, confused hipsters, baby boys, ethnically ambiguous immigrants, babydaddies, bitter divorcees, and aspiring rappers that is the dating spectrum for an overly open-minded thirty-something black woman such as myself is pretty entertaining stuff, but privacy comes first. Instead, check out this dating service sizzle reel from the 1980’s. Every single guy is a doozy and just might make you feel self-impressed about what you’re workin’ with.

Police Sketches of Black Dudes

Police sketch artist drawings of black people are notoriously poor and rarely look like anyone in particular. I’m convinced that when asked to describe the suspect, witnesses just describe the last black male they saw, even if they last saw a black male on television. So I did a little Thembi-style experiment by going online and digging up dozens of sketches of black suspects to see just who the strong arm of the law is looking for.
