Pontifications, coonery, quips, blasphemy, miscegenation, freshness, concern for celebrity life, the beauty of blackness, the sorrow of work-life, the curse of brilliance, and sassy stories. [Pop culture criticism, entertainment reviews, and humor writing by Thembi Ford.]

Looking forward to seeing more of this. I think it will be different from Lincoln Heights, particularly since it isn't supposed to be reality. And these types seemed much more real than the people I supposedly share a city with.

I'm also glad that BET is embracing the webisode format. I thought it would come a bit earlier after Cita. Perhaps along with the programming on Centric, they will be able to successfully manage all the changes in programming and media (of course...they are under the watchful eye of Viacom, but wtf is going on with MTV?)

I thought that was Tatyana Ali. The woman has grown up very nicely I see. Although I haven't seen the show but judging by your Breece’s writing has a distinct flair for delivering comedy, drama, and blackness at the same time, and it is refreshingly authentic - I will definitely be on the lookout.

This clip is very promising. I like to see black people in our generation excelling outside the box. It's how you separate yourself from the pack. Just from this I can tell its better than anything I see on on BET or TV-1 now. Does that mean the best show BET's got is on the web? Ha! Thats poetry in itself kind of. Time will tell but Thembi never steered a brutha wrong. Pretty girls in this too. That damn sure never hurts!

Me likey! And it so does not look like BET. Show comes complete with celebrity hair weaveologist Elgin Charles. Loved Julian Breece's line; "It’s not about trying to scrub up these little black children and make them clean and white and Cosby-like and pristine.”
