Answer: That would be a yes.

The first thing I noticed about Doha was that black movies and television shows came on all of the time. I’m talking about Jumping Jack Flash, I’m Gonna Git You Sucka (twice in one month!), Meet The Browns, Juice, the Eve show, All of Us – I mean everything. Alex Haley’s Roots just happened to be on television five or six times while I was in Doha, often in casual marathons like they were “Police Academy”…

I was going to come back to the U.S. with this fabulous post about my trip and only then reveal where I’ve been. But after only 24 hours in the Persian Gulf, I have to share something with you all. It’s very calm, warm, and safe here – no problems with customs or any funny looks in the streets. The randomness? Between last night and right now, multiple UPN sitcoms and the movies Juice and I’m Gonna Git You Sucka have come on, all subtitled in Arabic. I can’t even get this much black entertainment at home! We pretty much…

For the past year or so I’ve been craving tattoo number three. Like most people, I started out with a tattoo that held special significance, as if going through some cataclysmic change in life just simply had to be documented permanently. Since then, I’ve come to appreciate a good tattoo in the same way that I do a good glass of wine – it’s cool to drink it from the box and all but since I know what quality is, quality is what I must seek. And I’m not talking about my name in cursive or paw prints on my…
